Built for the way you work.
Most cattery and kennel software gets in the way. Petboard is built by someone close enough to the trade to know where it hurts — and patient enough to fix it properly.
A cattery. A pile of paper.
A better way.
Petboard started with watching someone close to me work in a small cattery, doing everything by hand. The booking diary was on paper. Pen schedules and changes lived in a notebook that had to be carried between rooms — or shouted across the yard. Invoices were a Word document with the date typed over. Customer details were on index cards in a filing box. Vaccination dates were checked, by eye, from a photocopy handed over at drop-off.
None of this is unusual. Most of the small boarding businesses I've spoken to since work the same way. It works — they're not bad at their jobs, they're brilliant at their jobs — but it costs them hours every week, makes Friday-night invoicing stressful, and means information lives in heads instead of in a system.
Petboard is the tool I wanted to be able to hand to that cattery, and to every other one running the same way. Easy enough that you can set it up in an evening between feed times. Powerful enough that, six months in, you wonder how you ever ran the business without it.
What that means in practice
Pricing is in pounds. Billing is via GoCardless under your own GoCardless account — Petboard never holds your money. Data sits in EU data centres. The support emails come back from people. We're starting with the basics that every cattery needs — bookings, invoices, deposits, vaccinations, photos to owners — and doing them properly before we add anything else.
Who's behind it
Petboard is a product of Freaky Turtle Ltd, a small UK company. There's currently one person doing customer research, design, engineering, and the support replies. The advantage is you talk to the same person about every part of the product. The disadvantage is they sleep less than they'd like.
One person, and two very important cats.
Quality control is handled in-house. Neither has missed a feed in living memory, and both have strong opinions about the product.

Marmalade
Chief Composure OfficerSpends his days on window watch, keeping a steady eye on the garden for birds and passers-by. Cool as you like under pressure — completely unbothered at the vet, and the calm head everyone leans on when things get busy.

Satsuma
Chief Tickle TesterKnown around the house as Suma. Personally quality-checks every tickle and shadows his mum room to room as her devoted security detail. A gifted practitioner of the zoomies — the occasional closed door notwithstanding.
Three things we won't budge on.
Fair and simple pricing
Two plain tiers in pounds. The only variable cost is the fee on online bank payments — shown on every page that mentions it. No storage meters, no tier-locking, no upsell roulette.
Easy enough for everyone
Catteries are run by people who care about animals, not by people who like fighting software. Every screen is designed for the staff member who's least keen on tech — and built so it doesn't get in their way.
GDPR-native, EU-resident
Your records, your customers' details, your invoices — they live in EU data centres. Subprocessors are UK and EU-based. UK GDPR is the floor we build to, not a feature to upsell.
