Terms of service.

These terms govern your use of petboard, operated by Freaky Turtle Ltd, a UK limited company. We'll update the date above if these change, and flag anything material to you directly.

In one paragraph

You can use petboard on a monthly or annual plan. You own your data, and we make it easy to take it with you when you leave. Online payments are collected by bank Direct Debit through GoCardless under your own GoCardless account — Petboard never holds your money. The all-in fee on online payments processed through the Pro tier is 2.4% + 20p, capped at £11 (excludes VAT). Everything else is straightforward.

Subscription & payment

• Monthly plans renew monthly and can be cancelled at any time
• Annual plans run for one year; we email you ahead of renewal — no silent auto-rebill surprises
• Upgrades take effect immediately (we prorate the difference)
• Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period

Your data

• You own your business data and your customers' personal data (you are the data controller for the latter)
• Petboard is the processor — see the Privacy notice for the detail
• You can export everything at any time, in formats your accountant will accept
• If you leave, we delete your data 30 days after cancellation

Online payments

Online payments are collected by bank Direct Debit through GoCardless under your own connected GoCardless account, protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee. You connect GoCardless during onboarding; GoCardless pays you out directly on your normal payout schedule; Petboard collects its platform share as part of the bundled 2.4% + 20p fee on each payment.

Refunds, failed collections, and dispute handling are between you, your customer, and GoCardless. We surface the relevant tools in the admin portal but do not adjudicate disputes.

Acceptable use

Petboard is for legitimate cattery, kennel, and pet-boarding businesses. We reserve the right to suspend accounts engaged in fraudulent activity, abusive conduct toward customers, or any use that contravenes UK law.

Service level

We target 99.5% uptime. We will notify customers of planned maintenance ahead of time. In the event of unplanned downtime, the status page reflects current state and the changelog reflects what happened and what we've done about it.

Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of petboard is limited to the fees you paid in the 12 months preceding the claim. Indirect or consequential losses are excluded.

Continuity

In the unlikely event Freaky Turtle Ltd winds down petboard as a product, we commit to 90 days notice and migration support. Your data export and the right to use that export do not depend on us being in business.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, with the courts of England & Wales having exclusive jurisdiction.
