Privacy notice.

Petboard is operated by Freaky Turtle Ltd, a UK limited company. We keep this notice in plain English; if we make a material change we'll update the date above and, where it affects you, let you know.

What we collect

From cattery / kennel owners (our paying customers):

• Your name, email address, and business name
• Your business address, phone number, and any branding assets you upload
• Payment information — handled directly by GoCardless, never stored by us
• Operational data: bookings, invoices, customers and pets you record

From pet owners (your customers):

• Name, email, and phone
• Pet details you ask them to share (vaccination status, feeding notes, etc.)
• Booking history with you

Where it lives

All the records you create — bookings, invoices, customers, pets — are stored in EU data centres only (Hetzner, Germany). Our subprocessors:

• GoCardless Ltd — bank Direct Debit payment processing, based in London, United Kingdom. GoCardless is the data controller for the payment data you process; we never see your customers' bank details. The UK holds a UK–EU data-adequacy decision, so this transfer is covered.
• Brevo (Sendinblue SAS) — transactional email, based in Paris, France. Used to send booking confirmations, magic links, payment receipts, and stay-update notifications.

Object storage for shared photos and videos: Hetzner Object Storage, Germany.

How long we keep it

While your business is an active petboard customer: as long as you keep using it. If you cancel, we retain your data for 30 days so you can change your mind, then we delete it. Specific records may be retained longer where law requires (HMRC obligations on financial records, for example).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. Email privacy@petboard.co.uk and we will respond within 28 days. You can also lodge a complaint with the UK's Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Cookies

We use first-party session cookies for authentication only. No third-party tracking cookies, no analytics that fingerprint you. Server-side request logs are retained for 14 days for operational troubleshooting and security only.

Changes to this notice

If we change this notice in a material way, we'll email all customers ahead of the change. The current version is always at petboard.co.uk/privacy.
